Solana is a production makeup artist with expertise in natural looks and corrective makeup for photography, video, corporate productions, commercials, social media, and film projects. Within her artistry she focuses on vegan, organic, mineral, camera-ready healthy makeup applications.
Interest in natural skin care and makeup began during her pre-teen years. Embracing parental advice to wear sun protection and care for her skin, she began formulating various homemade skin care blends. Solana developed an awareness early on that true beauty was connected with holistic health and enhanced with healthy cosmetics. After college graduation Solana worked in broadcast media and had an opportunity to merge into makeup artistry. She attended Blanche Macdonald Centre Institute, B.C., Vancouver, Canada and is a graduate of their full time Makeup Artistry Diploma program.
Working on set, she became concerned with the talent’s skin and realized her deep passion for aesthetics. Solana’s professional skincare practice commenced with graduation from Spa Luna Holistic School Maui.
Spa aesthetics experience includes: Parker Hotel Palm Springs, Sedona Arizona's Enchantment Resort Mii Amo Spa, Sedona New Day Spa, Namti Spa, Massage Envy Tustin, Sacred Mountain Spa Mount Shasta, and Spa Luna Holistic School Maui Clinic. Skin Care Training: Eminence Organics, Lucrece LPAR, Intraceuticals, Obagi, Murad, Origins, AVEDA, Epicuren, Jan Marini, ZO Skin Health, Hylunia, Cosmedix, Pevonia, and YonKa.
As a makeup artist Solana has covered a variety of broadcast, video, film, and photographic shoots. She was a freelance makeup artist for Jane Iredale Cosmetics, Gabriel ZuZu Luxe Cosmetics, Larinem Minerals, a Bare Escentuals Beauty Ambassador, Guide for Origins Natural Skincare, and a Spa Makeup Artist Lecturer for La Bella Donna Minerals.
